The Boscastle Giant willow sculpture by Serena de la Hey

Boscastle Giant

Valency Valley, Boscastle, Cornwall - 2004

Willow and steel, polymer and coloured paint

244cm high

A project instigated by Creative Partnerships, working with the National Trust and Boscastle Primary School to create a willow giant as part of North Cornwall Giant Trail. The sculpture formed part of a study of the Pearl Bordered Fritillary Butterfly by Boscastle Primary School, the final process echoing the way the willow sculpture was made and the parallel of the cycle of the butterfly.
